Every 2 weeks class 5 work on a different text type. We look at lots of different examples of that text type and build our success criteria (what we need to include in our writing to be successful). We then practise using and writing some of the features as a class and in pairs. We explore language typical to that text type and finally produce our own piece of writing.
We complete this piece of wring in our 'Big Write' sessions where we have a maximum of 45 minutes to write independently and in silence working on our own personal targets and using the success criteria. We have relaxing music playing, the lights are dimmed and we use special paper. We produce some excellent pieces of writing in this time, some of which we have word processed and are here for you to share. Enjoy!
