Pupil Premium funding is allocated to school with pupils roll that are known to have been eligible for free school meals (FSM) at any time in the last six years.
Schools have the freedom to spend the Premium, which is additional to the underlying school's budget, in ways they think will best support their pupils. The money is given to schools for them to address the inequalities between children eligible for free school meals and their peers. The aim of the grant is to close the gap in both attainment and progress.
We assess the impact of the measures in place through termly data analysis and the use of the deprivation tracker. The Pupil Premium Strategy is reviewed yearly by the Pupil Premium Lead and the Senior Leadership Team.
Principles
Schools are free to spend the grant as they see fit, but are required to provide evidence of the impact of the Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) yearly. This is linked to improvements in pupil outcomes. The Pupil Premium Governor also meets regularly with the Pupil Premium Lead to monitor impact.
Please see the reports below which detail the funding received and how it is spent at our school.
Early Years Pupil Premium Children who are currently claiming the Free Entitlement for 3 and 4 years olds in Oldham, who meet certain eligibility criteria, could be eligible for the Early Year Pupil Premium (EYPP).
