What was life like as a British child in 1939?
The children in Year 3 were transformed into children from 1939. Each child got a new name and had to act as their character during the role-play of an evacuation.
After we experienced the evacuation for ourselves, we were able to listen to Joseph Lavin telling us his experience of evacuating in 1939.
The children got in character to discuss how we may have felt at the time and then they wrote a diary entry about their evacuation.
