  • NEW SCHOOL OPENING

    Sat 31 Aug 2019

Our new building will be open for pupils as planned on Tuesday, 3rd September 2019.  Could all children please enter the school playground around 8.50am and find their class teacher who will be standing alongside the football pitch in the playground.  There are two gates, one at the front of the school and one at the rear.  Nursery and Reception teachers will be standing near their gates in the fenced off area for their outdoor provision.  At the end of the day on this first day, teachers will take their class back into the playground to the same place where they were collected from in the morning.  On subsequent days children will know themselves which doors they will enter and leave school from and will be able to inform their parents, as this will be part of a demonstration for each class including a tour of the school.  As soon as we have settled in ourselves there will be opportunities for parents to come and view the school.  This is a very exciting time for all our staff and families and we know we will have to be very flexible as things change and develop.

Email received from Girl Scout Leader:

"I wanted to send you a positive message about your school's Ancient Greeks webpage https://www.greenfieldprimaryschool.com/what-did-the-ancient-greeks-do-for-us/.  I'm a girl scout leader and our troop is working on their 'Playing the Past' badge. They have been researching life in Ancient Greece so that they can write and perform a short play based on Greek life.  They have been referencing your page for their research so I wanted to give you a big THANK YOU from all of us :-D."

  • EXPANSION UPDATE

Fri 08 Mar 2019 Mr M Wood, Headteacher
On Wednesday, 6th March 2019, the Senior Management Team had their first tour of the new building.  All were agreed it was AMAZING!!  We were assured that progress is still on track for children and staff to be able to move in to the new building in June 2019, allowing the old school building to be demolished and replaced with a new school field containing a six-a-side football pitch, a rounders pitch, running track and toilets and changing facilities for boys, girls and staff.
  • SCHOOL EXPANSION

    Wed 26 Sep 2018 M Wood, Headteacher
The proposed expansion of Greenfield Primary School has now begun.  Digging and drilling equipment are now making an impact on what was the school field.  Extraspace Solutions have been liaising with school and so far we have had a colouring competition for all children looking at what makes a construction site safe.  We are also awaiting the delivery of hi-vis vests and hard hats for children to inspect the site at different stages of its development.  We intend to take lots of photographs for present and future pupils to remember this historic development.
