Multiplication test
At the end of Year 4 pupils will take part in a national multiplication test to assess their times table knowledge. We will be doing a lot of work in class to ensure that all pupils know their Times table up to their 12’s. When pupils know their times tables it makes a lot of areas in Maths much easier to learn, especially in Year 5/6. We ask that you practise your times tables each week at home (as part of your homework) this can be done through games, songs, apps etc. I have put some links below to help in this area.
Our first unit is Place Value.
We will look at the following:
- Represent and partition numbers to 1000
- Represent and partition numbers to 10,000
- Order, compare and estimate numbers to 10,000
- Roman numerals
- Rounding to 10,100 and 1000
We will also have a big focus on Times Tables this year. Please go onto Times Tables Rock Stars every week.
