School Council Safety Presentation 19.12.19

Thursday 28th November 2019- Tonight the Year 6 School Council members represented the School Council and delivered a presentation talking about their trip to the Oldham Council Chambers and what they intend to do this upcoming academic year in the new school. Well done everyone! Please see the link below.

We are delighted to introduce the new School Council for the academic year 2019-2020. There were lots of fantastic applications this year, making it a very tricky decision and everyone who applied should be very proud of themselves!

It is a very exciting opportunity being a member of the School Council in the new school building and they are already coming up with brilliant ideas of how we can make our new school even better!

EXCITING TIMES - April 2019

Following the request of pupils and survey of parents, here is the first made up new uniform for when we move into our new building following the expansion of our school.  The girl modelling our new tops created the new school logo.  These will be available from Cathy Shepherd at Simply Schoolwear on Chew Valley Road.  Summer dresses will be green and white going forward and all other uniform items can be bought from any supermarket / retailer.

SCHOOL COUNCIL - HEALTHY EATING - 3rd April 2019

Today, the School Council promoted healthy eating and delivered an assembly to the whole school including tips and advice regarding healthy eating. The School Council have had many meetings discussing the assembly and collected results for  questionnaires regarding the school lunch menu.

All children throughout school really enjoyed this assembly and particularly enjoyed taking part in the quiz.

School Council 2017-2018

A Quote from the Head of the School Council 2017-2018

"We have designed a suggestion box and used bright colours to attract people to it. This box allows both pupils and staff to express any ideas or suggestions which we will then discuss at our weekly meetings."

In addition to this, the School Council also enjoy planning school events throughout the year:

A Quote from the Scribe of the School Council 2017-2018

"We had a meeting and discussed possible whole school activities for World Book Day 2018. We decided it would be fun to have a Bookmark Competition. We designed posters to advertise it and explained that the winners could win a book. We wanted as many children to take part as possible. We had a meeting to judge the bookmarks and held an assembly to announce the winners."

A Quote from a Year 4 child on the School Council 2017-2018

"We thought it might be a nice idea to have a school Book Swap. Children brought books in from home and got a token to swap for another book of their choice. We really enjoyed planning this activity throughout the day."

A quote from Emine, a Year 6 pupil and member of the School Council

We had a fun day, I'd like to do it again.  We did lots of exciting activities.  The joke telling competition was really funny.  Everyone made a big effort and we raised £240.00, which we shared between Comic Relief and Save the Children in Japan.  We had a competition and the categories were: funniest, prettiest/coolest, and the most red.  The School Council chose the winners who each received a £5.00 Tesco voucher.  Overall it was a really good day and everyone enjoyed it.

A quote from Charlotte, a Year 6 pupil and a member of Greenfield Primary School's Book Club

During the Book Fair Week we had a competition to design a book cover for your favourite book and a 'blurb'. The winner of each class won a £5.00 gift voucher.
