Roald Dahl Week:
This week the whole school have been celebration Roald Dahl’s 100th Birthday. Year 3 have been looking at the book called ‘The Twits’. We have been doing lots of different activities links to the book including:
Creating a description of the characters
During our English lessons we have been looking at exciting ways of describing the characters in the story using lots of interesting adjectives and a focus on similes!
Some of the fantastic examples of this are:
‘His hair was a scruffy as a wild dog’- Khai.
‘The Roly Poly Bird was as colourful as a rainbow’- Alice
‘Her feathers were as fluffy as Santa’s soft beard’- Katya
Making our own Roly Poly Bird
During our art lesson this week I gave the children the task of making their own Roly Poly Bird. We had lots of colourful birds created using collage ad origami.
Dress Up Day
We had a fantastic day on Thursday as many children came dressed as their favourite Roald Dahl character and the children had a great time figuring out who everybody was.
