Here you will be able to keep up to date with what we have been learning about at Nursery. You may wish to have a go at some of the activities if your child is continuing learning at home for the time being.

This week we begun a new theme 'Minibeasts'. We spent a week learning about spiders. Next week we will be learning about ladybirds. Here are some of the activities the children took part in during the week.

This week we will be learning about ladybirds. There are some lovely picture books about ladybirds, I wonder whether you have any at your house? At Nursery, we will be reading 'The Bad Tempered Ladybird', and talking about how to be a kind friend.

 

We have already started gathering new information about ladybirds. Maybe you could see how many new things you can learn about ladybirds this week. Did you know ladybirds can have up to 20 spots? Take a look at some ideas you can make and do like us as you learn from home.

w/c 15th June

This week we will be exploring one of the classic favourite mini-beast books 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' by Eric Carle. There are lots of lovely activity ideas on twinkl relating to this book, so take a look. 

Children at Nursery will be learning about the life cycle of butterflies, creating butterfly artwork, and exploring doubling and symmetry.

This week we will be learning all about bees. Our story of the week will be 'Bumblebear' by Nadia Shireen. We will explore how bees make honey and make honey biscuits. The recipe for this is in a new home learning pack we are busy putting together to keep you busy over the next few weeks.

This week we will be learning all about worms! Our story of the week will be 'Superworm' by Julia Donaldson. We will be making a wormery, string painting, making worm sock puppets and using playdough to make worms of different lengths to make size comparisons. If your child is not currently attending Nursery, you can collect a new home learning pack from the school office asap.

This week we have begun a theme of transport and 'things that go'. How many different types of transport can you think of at home? The children painted all of their ideas. We will upload some photos of our learning as the week goes on.
