SCARF: Safety, Caring, Achievement, Resilience, Friendship

Overview
PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education) is an integral part of Greenfield Primary School. At our school, we use Coram Life Education’s SCARF scheme to plan and resource our PSHE lessons. SCARF provides the framework for a whole-school approach to improving children’s wellbeing and progress, based on five values: safety (S), caring (C), achievement (A), resilience (R) and friendship (F). The SCARF programme of study is organised around the learning outcomes and core themes of the PSHE Association scheme of work. This covers all the required objectives and follows the three core areas of Health, Wellbeing, Relationships and Living in the Wider World.

At Greenfield Primary School, we are each unique and beautiful but together we are a masterpiece.

Across school, we took part in mental wellbeing workshops. Harold the gifraffe came to visit us to talk about developing positive attitudes, the importance of having a growth mindset and being resilient when faced with challenge.

The whole school took part in ‘Odd Socks Day’ to mark the start of Anti-Bullying week. We all came to school wearing odd socks and took part in lots of activities throughout the day. We celebrated being unique and talked about the importance of treating everyone with kindness.

11.09.23- PSHE- School Rules

Today in Year 1 Pine's PSHE lesson we talked about why we have school rules and learnt that rules are there to keep us safe. We also sang a song about school rules. Great job everyone! Please see our class page for the video!

Year 2 Yew Class March 2023

A visit from Harold the giraffe our PSHE mascot! The whole school enjoyed taking part in different SCARF workshops. Across the year groups we learnt all about our bodies including; understanding our feelings, how we stay healthy, how we take care of ourselves and how our bodies change.

For Children’s Mental Health Week and to celebrate the SCARF values we held a ‘Wear Your Scarf to School’ day. Throughout the week, the whole school took part in different activities which focused on safety, care, achievement, resilience and friendship.
