Whole School Diversity Week!

The entire school enjoyed taking part in ‘Diversity Week,’ where we celebrated our individuality and the similarities and differences between us. Throughout the week, we engaged in various activities highlighting different aspects of diversity. We took part in multicultural dance workshops and disability awareness workshops run by Azim Amir, a professional footballer who plays for England’s blind men’s team. We also learned songs, read and discussed numerous stories and books and held a ‘Dress to Express’ day where we came to school in clothes which represented a part of who we are.

Across school, we took part in mental wellbeing workshops. Harold the gifraffe came to visit us to talk about developing positive attitudes, the importance of having a growth mindset and being resilient when faced with challenge.

The whole school took part in ‘Odd Socks Day’ to mark the start of Anti-Bullying week. We all came to school wearing odd socks and took part in lots of activities throughout the day. We celebrated being unique and talked about the importance of treating everyone with kindness.

A visit from Harold the giraffe our PSHE mascot! The whole school enjoyed taking part in different SCARF workshops. Across the year groups we learnt all about our bodies including; understanding our feelings, how we stay healthy, how we take care of ourselves and how our bodies change.

For Children’s Mental Health Week and to celebrate the SCARF values we held a ‘Wear Your Scarf to School’ day. Throughout the week, the whole school took part in different activities which focused on safety, care, achievement, resilience and friendship.
